Description:

Web 2.0 & Connectivist Learning will focus on utilizing new technologies to connect, collaborate, create, and share.  The primary focus will be on teacher professional learning and building a Personal Learning Network.  We will explore in depth how web 2.0 tools like blogs, wikis, podcasts, vodcasts, social bookmarking, social networking, microblogging, and others can be utilized both for personal professional growth and how these tools might be used in the classroom.  This course will culminate in participation in a Hamline Institute on Technology in Education where participants of this course will lead discussion sessions.  EMID participants of this group will be asked to locate an educator from their personal learning network to co-facilitate a discussion session at this institute on a topic of their choice related to technology, education, school policy, or teaching & learning.

  • In addition to face-to-face sessions this course is also offered as an open course.  All face-to-face sessions will be live streamed and opportunities provided for remote attendees to participate .
